After a season of eye-popping colours and blaring prints, designers embraced the dark arts for fall. Backstage it was all about wine-stained lips, pale-out complexions, black eyeliner and baroque hair styles. The runway marks the trend and we give you inspiration for how to get the look.

Blackberry lips
It is time to fall for the new lip colour, blackberry. We have seen plenty of this look on the runway, Etro, Gucci and Rochas; they all choose the hue of the season to make the lips to stand out in berry, plum and dark red colours. You can choose a more subtle look by going for berry gloss or go for full-on lip colour with a berry lipstick. A good tip for making deep colour lipstick appear more modern and last longer- apply lipstick over your lips and dust some powder over the top for a beautiful, velvety finish to your look.

Colour eyelashes
The colour eyelashes are back! Think blue, purple, burgundy colour ... This popular 80’s trend is back making your look full of mystery and sophistication. To update the make-up, keep the rest of the products simple and put the accent only in the eyelashes, choose neutral eye shadow and apply three coats of mascara. Don’t forget to look after your eyelashes with some eyelash serum, to encourage active growth and keep them strong.
Navy blue mascara suits all eye colours, give it a try!

Rainbow eyes
This winter your eyes will be the centre of everyone’s attention if you choose to do the rainbow eyes. To get the look you need to choose different colour eye shadow, mix together and finish with geometric black lines. It is a risky look but it is worth it. To get inspiration check the Prada look, mixing orange and purple eye shadows and the amazing look in Cavalli’s show, mixing metallic olive green, purple and gold; the perfect eye that can lift up every outfit!

Super eyeliner
Black eyeliner is essential for a sexy make-up. This time we have seen geometric shapes, long finishes and deep black in all the autumn beauty looks. You can create the most risky styles by only applying eyeliner or create a new intense smoky eye by using dark grey and black metallic eye shadow and then finishing with black kohl. If you are tired and have shadow around your eyes, play on it by doing a smoky eye; a good tip is to pump it up by adding a small dab of gloss to the centre of the lids

Natural skin
We are getting deep burgundy lips, or maybe exotic strong eyes, so it feels that the right way to soften the look is by going for a natural skin look. You can choose to make your eyes or lips pop with a neutral skin or go for the totally natural look. The make-up artists suggest choosing make up that doesn’t hide the skin, they just try to make the skin look naked with a healthy glow.
For a radiant look apply a bb cream or primer before the foundation and then choose soft, light, velvety foundations that melt with your skin and you are ready to go!

Baroque, sophisticated and chic are the hairstyles we have seen on the runways around the world for this winter. Dolce and Gabbana dazzled with embroidered hair bands and over loaded hair styles, Pucci created plaits wore as hair bands and Gucci chose jewelled  broaches to get an elegant look.
